Opera on Original Site

Seeing the opera, Turandot, performed at its original site in Beijing’s Forbidden City was a once-in-a-lifetime highlight for opera lovers who joined Travel Crafter on this special trip to China. This famous Puccini opera performance was directed by Zhang Yimou, writer, filmmaker and director of the 2008 Olympic Games Opening Ceremonies in Beijing. The opera’s performances were conducted by Zubin Mehta, and on the evening Travel Crafter’s group attended the opera, the performance was filmed by PBS for their Great Performances series. Travel Crafter participants were also treated to a dinner onsite with cast members after the performance!
